The Cobalt has seen its better days. Its definitely been through some hard knocks. The paint started fading only 2 years after being professionally re painted by a body shop on the coast. I found out after a good friend detailed it that the clear coat was barley even there. One pass with the buffer and it was eating through to the paint. I started using the car as my daily and work car after I got my truck and it got even worse from there. So now I finally have some free time so Im trying to do some much needed work. I will eventually paint the car back the factory color, but for now Im using plastidip.
Here are some pics of what it looked like before I started.
I was tired of getting harassed by the cops so I took off the yellow headlight tint.
The paint was flaking so bad on the front bumper that it came right off using a razor blade.
After getting rid of the bad paint on the bumper I dipped the hood, roof and trunk. I had planned on doing the bumper that night but ran out of time.
And yesterday I dipped the bumper and front fenders. This is how it sits now.
Ill show more progress as I go.
